We are seeking a meticulous and dedicated laundry staff member for our client, a luxury hotel situated in the exclusive Upper East Side of New York City. This position is crucial for maintaining the high standards of cleanliness and presentation that our client's guests expect. Responsibilities include laundering of linens, guest clothing, and uniforms, ensuring all items are impeccably cleaned, pressed, and returned in a timely manner. The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role, demonstrating a commitment to excellence and attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Laundering of hotel linens, guest clothing, and staff uniforms to ensure all items are cleaned and maintained to the highest standards.
- Operating industrial laundry machines and equipment with proficiency and care.
- Inspecting all laundry for stains and damages before processing and reporting any discrepancies to the housekeeping supervisor.
- Applying correct treatment for different types of fabrics and stains to prevent damage.
- Folding, pressing, and packaging laundered items for return to guest rooms, stock, or staff.
- Maintaining a clean and organized work area, adhering to health and safety guidelines.
- Collaborating with the housekeeping and front desk teams to ensure timely completion and delivery of laundry services.
- Managing inventory of cleaning supplies and linen stock, requesting replenishments as necessary.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a laundry or housekeeping role, preferably within a luxury hotel environment.
- Knowledge of laundry operations, including the use of industrial washing, drying, and pressing equipment.
- Understanding of fabric care and stain treatment for luxury fabrics.
- Ability to stand and move for extended periods, and lift heavy items when necessary.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
