Job description
We are seeking an enthusiastic, friendly, and customer-service-oriented Barista to join our team. The ideal candidate will be the welcoming face of our office coffee-bar service, responsible for preparing high-quality beverages for the staff from a preset menu using automated coffee machines. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys interacting with people and creating a positive atmosphere.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee, tea, and other beverages from a preset menu using automated espresso machines and other coffee-making equipment
- Engage with staff members in a friendly and professional manner, fostering a welcoming and positive environment
- Maintain a clean and organized coffee bar area, including equipment, countertops, and storage
- Monitor and replenish coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other supplies as needed
- Ensure all equipment is functioning correctly and report any maintenance issues promptly
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations
- Manage inventory of coffee supplies and communicate restocking needs
- Maintain a presentable and professional appearance
- Handle any staff inquiries or feedback regarding beverages with excellent customer service
Requirements
- Proven customer service experience, with a genuine desire to interact with people
- Outgoing and friendly personality with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Prior experience as a Barista is a plus, but not strictly required if strong customer service skills are demonstrated. Training on automated machines will be provided
- Basic knowledge of coffee types and preparation methods is a bonus
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds
- Reliable and punctual
Work conditions
- Location: Chelsea, NY
- Schedule: Full-time, temporary, long-term, Monday-Friday, 8 am - 2 pm
- $18-$20/hour, depending on experience
