Our client, a renowned luxury hotel located in Miami's upscale district, is in search of a Part-time Hotel Alterations Specialist. This role is critical in maintaining the high standards of elegance and comfort for which the hotel is known. The selected candidate will be tasked with the alteration and customization of both staff uniforms and guest attire, ensuring a perfect fit and exceptional quality. Responsibilities
- Perform detailed alterations on hotel staff uniforms and guest clothing, ensuring each piece meets the hotel's high standards of fit and appearance.
- Collaborate closely with the hotel's housekeeping and front desk teams to manage and prioritize alteration requests, ensuring timely and efficient service.
- Conduct monthly fittings for new staff members to customize uniforms for a perfect fit, enhancing the professional image of the hotel.
- Offer consultation and alteration services for guests' garments as needed, providing a personalized and luxury experience.
- Maintain an inventory of tailoring supplies and fabrics, and place orders when necessary to ensure all materials are readily available.
- Work with the hotel's laundry service to identify garments in need of repair or alteration, ensuring items are returned to guests in impeccable condition.
- Implement quality control measures for all altered garments, guaranteeing the highest level of workmanship.
- Provide training and guidance to new team members on the hotel's standards for garment care and alterations.
- Stay updated on the latest tailoring techniques and trends in luxury fashion to continuously improve the service offered to guests and staff.
- Coordinate with the hotel's event planning team to prepare and alter uniforms for special events, ensuring all staff present a uniform and elegant appearance.
Requirements
- Possess a professional certification or diploma in tailoring, fashion design, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in high-quality garment alterations, preferably in the luxury fashion or hospitality industry.
- Demonstrated ability to work with a variety of fabrics and materials, with a keen eye for detail and precision in fitting and alterations.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with staff across different departments and provide excellent service to guests.
- Proven track record of managing time efficiently, with the capability to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
- Must be proficient in the use of tailoring equipment and techniques, including sewing machines, hand stitching, and fabric cutting tools.
- Experience in conducting fittings and adjustments for a diverse range of body types.
- Familiarity with the latest trends in fashion and tailoring, and how they apply to luxury settings.
- Ability to maintain inventory of tailoring supplies and manage orders for new materials as needed.
- Flexibility to work part-time hours, including weekends and evenings, to accommodate the needs of the hotel and its guests.
