Our client, a prestigious hotel located in the heart of New York's vibrant Manhattan district, is currently seeking a skilled Audiovisual Technician. This luxury establishment prides itself on delivering exceptional experiences to its guests through state-of-the-art facilities and services. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and operating audiovisual equipment used in various hotel events and functions. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong technical background in audiovisual technologies and a commitment to providing high-quality service to ensure events run smoothly and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot a wide range of audiovisual equipment including projectors, microphones, speakers, and lighting systems.
- Coordinate with the event planning team to understand specific audiovisual requirements for each event, ensuring setups meet or exceed expectations.
- Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of audiovisual equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Provide technical support during events, quickly resolving any issues that arise to minimize disruptions.
- Train hotel staff on the basic operation of audiovisual equipment to assist in minor setup and troubleshooting.
- Manage the inventory of audiovisual equipment, keeping track of all items and ordering replacements or upgrades as necessary.
- Collaborate with external vendors for large events that require additional or specialized audiovisual equipment.
- Prepare and execute monthly checks on the hotel’s audiovisual systems to guarantee functionality for upcoming events.
- Work closely with the IT department to integrate audiovisual systems with the hotel’s network for streaming and conferencing capabilities.
- Offer recommendations to management on new audiovisual technologies or improvements to enhance event experiences.
Requirements
- Associate degree or higher in Audiovisual Technology, Broadcast Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional certification in audiovisual technology or engineering, such as CTS (Certified Technology Specialist) or similar.
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience in audiovisual services, preferably in the hospitality industry or event management.
- Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting a wide range of audiovisual equipment, including projectors, sound systems, lighting, and video conferencing tools.
- Strong technical knowledge of current and emerging AV technologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure during live events.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with teams across different departments, including IT, event planning, and external vendors.
- Strong communication skills, capable of explaining technical information in easily understandable terms.
- Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by event schedules.
