We are excited to announce a job opening on behalf of our client, a high-end luxury restaurant situated along Miami's scenic waterfront. The restaurant is in search of professional Back-of-House staff who are committed to upholding the highest standards of food preparation and kitchen management. Ideal candidates will have experience in a luxury setting, demonstrating proficiency in kitchen operations, teamwork, and a dedication to culinary arts. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen and contributing to the restaurant's reputation for excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and organization of kitchen operations under the guidance of the Head Chef.
  • Conduct weekly inventory checks to ensure all supplies and equipment are fully stocked and in good condition.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization within the kitchen and storage areas, adhering to health and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to streamline food preparation processes for efficiency.
  • Participate in monthly training sessions with the hospitality team to improve service standards and introduce new procedures.
  • Manage waste disposal and recycling in accordance with hotel policies and environmental regulations.
  • Work closely with the Food and Beverage Manager to implement cost-saving measures without compromising on quality.
  • Assist in receiving deliveries, verifying quantities, and quality of incoming goods.
  • Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth operation and guest satisfaction.
  • Handle special projects and tasks as assigned by the management team to support various back-of-house operations.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a professional kitchen, preferably in a luxury or fine dining establishment.
  • Culinary arts degree or equivalent certification from a recognized culinary institution.
  • Proven ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and maintain high standards under pressure.
  • Strong understanding of kitchen hygiene and safety protocols, with a current food handler's certification.
  • Demonstrated skill in food preparation and an understanding of various cooking methods.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both kitchen and front-of-house staff.
  • Creative thinking and the ability to contribute ideas for menu development and kitchen efficiency improvements.
  • Flexibility to work in shifts, including weekends and holidays, as required by the restaurant's schedule.
  • A passion for culinary arts and a commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
  • Basic knowledge of inventory management and the ability to assist in ordering and managing kitchen supplies.
