Responsibilities

  • Design and implement innovative catering menus in collaboration with the executive chef, ensuring a diverse and high-quality culinary experience that aligns with the luxury standards of our downtown Miami hotel.
  • Coordinate logistics for all catering events, managing schedules, and overseeing the setup and breakdown processes to ensure smooth operations.
  • Conduct monthly market research to stay ahead of industry trends and incorporate new and exciting culinary concepts into our catering offerings.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors to ensure the procurement of the highest quality ingredients and supplies.
  • Work closely with the sales and marketing team to promote catering services, contributing to the creation of promotional materials and participating in client meetings to secure new business.
  • Lead and train the catering team, setting performance standards and conducting regular performance evaluations to ensure a motivated and skilled workforce.
  • Manage the catering budget, including forecasting and controlling costs, to maximize profitability without compromising on quality.
  • Oversee the execution of catering events, ensuring exceptional service delivery and addressing any issues that arise to maintain the hotel's reputation for excellence.
  • Collaborate with the hotel's event planning team to offer integrated services for weddings, corporate events, and other special occasions, enhancing the overall guest experience.
  • Implement and adhere to health and safety regulations, ensuring all catering practices are compliant and promoting a safe working environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, or a related field from a reputable institution.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in catering management, preferably within the luxury hotel sector.
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Food Service Manager (CFSM) or Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) are highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and execute high-end, innovative catering menus.
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale events and leading a team to success.
  • Strong vendor management skills, with a network of high-quality suppliers.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with both team members and clients.
  • Proficiency in budget management and cost control.
  • Knowledge of the latest trends in the culinary and luxury hospitality industry.
  • Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of health and safety.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, to accommodate the scheduling needs of events.
    • Fluent in English, with additional languages considered a plus.
