Job description

Seeking a dynamic Hotel Department Manager to lead operations in one of Dubai's premier luxury hotels. This role demands a visionary leader with a bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management and at least 5 years of experience in the luxury hotel sector. The ideal candidate will exhibit exceptional managerial skills, a track record of enhancing guest satisfaction, and proficiency in hotel management software. Responsibilities include overseeing departmental operations, financial management, and team leadership. Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the hotel department, ensuring compliance with the highest standards of luxury and service excellence unique to Dubai's hospitality scene.
  • Implement operational strategies to maximize guest satisfaction and operational efficiency within the department.
  • Conduct weekly performance analyses to evaluate the success of services offered, initiating improvements where necessary.
  • Mentor and lead a diverse team, facilitating ongoing training sessions to enhance skills and ensure exceptional guest service.
  • Work in collaboration with other hotel department managers and the General Manager to maintain a seamless operation, contributing to the hotel's reputation as a leading luxury destination in Dubai.
  • Oversee financial management for the department, including budgeting, expense control, and revenue optimization, to meet or exceed financial goals.
  • Schedule and lead regular team meetings to ensure communication is maintained, operational challenges are addressed promptly, and team morale is high.
  • Partner with the hotel's sales and marketing team to drive the promotion of departmental services, aligning with broader hotel marketing strategies.
  • Plan and oversee the execution of high-profile events and services, ensuring they meet the luxury standards expected by guests.
  • Ensure strict adherence to health and safety standards to provide a safe environment for guests and staff alike.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or similar, from internationally recognized institutions such as the Emirates Academy of Hospitality Management or the Swiss Hotel Management School.
  • At least 5 years of experience in the luxury hospitality industry, with a minimum of 3 years in a managerial role within a hotel department.
  • Professional certification in hotel management, such as the Certified Hotel Administrator (CHA) from the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute.
  • Demonstrated success in enhancing guest satisfaction and operational efficiency in a previous leadership role.
  • Exceptional leadership and team development skills, with a proven ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
  • Excellent communication skills, with fluency in English and preferably Arabic or other languages relevant to Dubai's multicultural guest base.
  • Proficient in the use of hotel management software systems, such as RMS Cloud or Hotelogix.
  • A strong understanding of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Must possess a keen eye for detail and a commitment to upholding the luxury standards for which Dubai's hospitality industry is known.
