Job description
Responsibilities
- Thoroughly wash and sanitize all kitchenware, including dishes, utensils, cooking equipment, and trays, ensuring they meet the restaurant's high standards of cleanliness.
- Perform daily and deep cleaning tasks in the kitchen area, including floors, countertops, and storage areas, on a scheduled basis to maintain a hygienic work environment.
- Collaborate closely with the culinary team to ensure a timely supply of clean cookware and utensils, supporting efficient kitchen operations.
- Manage the organization and storage of all kitchenware, ensuring items are easily accessible and in their proper place.
- Conduct monthly inventory checks of kitchen supplies and equipment, reporting any damages or shortages to the kitchen manager.
- Participate in weekly team meetings with kitchen staff to discuss improvements in cleaning procedures and kitchen efficiency.
- Coordinate with the restaurant's maintenance team for the upkeep and repair of dishwasher machinery and kitchen equipment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; further certification in Hospitality or Kitchen Management from recognized institutions is a plus.
- Proven experience in a similar role within a high-end restaurant or hotel kitchen is preferred.
- Knowledge of proper chemical handling and sanitation standards.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication skills for effective teamwork.
- Certification in food safety and hygiene, such as the ServSafe Food Handler certification, is highly desirable.
