We are seeking a highly skilled engineer to join our esteemed client's team at a luxurious 5-star establishment located in the heart of New York City, near Central Park. This prestigious role involves maintaining the hotel's high standards of operation, overseeing the maintenance of all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems to ensure guest satisfaction and safety. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in a similar capacity, demonstrating an ability to troubleshoot complex issues efficiently. Responsibilities
- Conduct daily inspections of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems to identify potential issues and ensure optimal operation.
- Implement a preventative maintenance program, scheduling regular checks and services to prevent system failures.
- Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests from hotel guests and staff, prioritizing guest safety and comfort.
- Collaborate closely with the housekeeping and front desk teams to coordinate maintenance work with minimal disruption to guests.
- Manage relationships with external contractors and suppliers, overseeing any outsourced maintenance or renovation projects.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including repairs, replacements, and inspections, for compliance and review purposes.
- Participate in weekly meetings with the hotel management team to report on maintenance status and discuss upcoming needs or projects.
- Lead energy conservation initiatives, identifying opportunities to reduce energy consumption and implement sustainable practices.
- Train new maintenance staff and provide ongoing technical support and guidance to ensure high standards of workmanship.
- Ensure compliance with all local safety regulations and building codes, conducting regular safety audits and fire drills.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Certification as a Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) or a Certified Plant Engineer (CPE).
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a maintenance or engineering role within a luxury hotel or high-end hospitality environment.
- Proven track record of managing maintenance teams and working collaboratively across departments.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems, with specific experience in HVAC systems and energy management.
- Familiarity with building codes and safety regulations relevant to New York City.
- Experience in implementing and managing preventative maintenance programs.
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, including cost estimation and cost control for maintenance projects.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to train and motivate staff.
- Proficiency in maintenance management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Commitment to sustainability and experience with green initiatives in a hospitality setting.
