Situated steps away from the Tower of London, our client, a distinguished luxury hotel, invites applications for the position of Hotel Expediter. This key role is essential for the smooth running of hotel operations, requiring a dynamic and solution-oriented individual. The Hotel Expediter will be responsible for coordinating between departments to ensure the prompt delivery of services, resolving any operational issues promptly, and contributing to the overall efficiency of the hotel's daily activities. Responsibilities

This role involves coordinating activities, resolving issues that impact service delivery, and maintaining communication between staff to ensure that guest needs are met promptly and effectively. The Expediter acts as a dynamic force, driving the seamless execution of daily operations.

  • Collaborate closely with the Front Desk, Housekeeping, and Food & Beverage departments to ensure smooth operational flow and immediate attention to guest requests.
  • Conduct daily briefings with department heads to prioritize tasks and address any potential operational challenges.
  • Implement and monitor a system for tracking the progress of guest-related requests, ensuring they are fulfilled within the set timeframes.
  • Work directly with the Maintenance department to resolve any immediate facility-related issues affecting guest comfort or safety.
  • Organize and oversee monthly operational efficiency reviews, suggesting improvements and strategizing on the implementation of changes.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for inter-departmental communications, facilitating quick resolution of operational bottlenecks.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive database of preferred vendors for outsourced services and emergency needs.
  • Coordinate with the Event Planning team to ensure all logistical aspects of on-site events are executed flawlessly.
  • Lead weekly training sessions for new staff on operational protocols and guest service standards.
  • Manage and update an internal operational handbook, detailing procedures and protocols for handling a wide range of guest services and operational issues.
  • Liaise with the IT department to ensure that technological tools and systems used for operations are functioning optimally and meet the hotel's needs.
  • Analyze guest feedback on operational efficiency and service delivery, implementing continuous improvement measures based on insights gained.

Requirements

Candidates must possess relevant educational qualifications, proven experience in a similar luxury setting, and specific certifications that demonstrate their proficiency in hotel operations and guest services. Attention to detail, exceptional problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously are essential for success in this position.

  • Proven track record of improving operational efficiency and guest satisfaction.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in managing cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.
  • Proficiency in hotel management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by hotel operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle stressful situations with grace and maintain a positive guest experience.
  • Strong analytical skills with a focus on operational problem-solving and strategic planning.
  • A commitment to continuous professional development, with additional certifications in guest service or hotel operations management considered an advantage.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations within the hospitality industry.

Work conditions

  • The position is located in central London.
  • Standard work hours are 40 per week, with the need for flexibility to cover shifts during evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by hotel operations.
