Located in the prestigious Opera district, our client's luxury hotel offers an exceptional career opportunity for a Finance Manager. This position is integral to the hotel's operations, requiring expertise in financial analysis, strategic planning, and execution to ensure the hotel's financial health and growth. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, experience in the luxury hotel sector, and the ability to work closely with senior management to develop and implement financial strategies that align with the hotel's objectives.

 

Finance Managers oversee financial activities, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. They play a key role in financial decision-making and strategy development.

Responsibilities

This role involves direct collaboration with senior management to align financial strategies with the hotel’s objectives and conducting internal audits to maintain financial integrity. Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing annual budgets in coordination with department heads, ensuring alignment with the hotel's strategic goals.
  • Conducting monthly financial analysis to identify trends, forecast future financial performance, and advise on financial planning.
  • Leading quarterly internal audits to ensure compliance with financial regulations and identify areas for improvement.
  • Managing and optimizing cash flow to ensure sufficient liquidity for operational needs and strategic investments.
  • Overseeing payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and compliance with labor laws.
  • Collaborating closely with the hotel’s General Manager and department heads to implement cost-saving measures and improve financial efficiency.
  • Preparing and presenting financial reports to senior management, highlighting performance against budget and key financial metrics.
  • Liaising with external auditors during annual audits to ensure a smooth process and address any issues promptly.
  • Monitoring changes in financial regulations and industry trends to advise on potential impacts on the hotel’s operations.
  • Implementing and overseeing financial control systems to prevent errors and fraud.
  • Negotiating contracts with vendors and suppliers to secure favorable terms and reduce costs.
  • Training and mentoring finance department staff to ensure a high level of competency and professionalism in financial management practices.

Finance Managers contribute to overall financial health by optimizing financial processes and supporting strategic decision-making.

Requirements

To secure this position, candidates must possess a strong educational background in finance or accounting, relevant certifications, and significant experience in financial management within the hospitality industry. Ideal applicants will demonstrate exceptional analytical skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to work effectively with senior management and department heads.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) with a specialization in Finance or Hospitality Management is highly preferred.

Certification:

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA) certification.
  • Certification in Hotel Industry Analytics (CHIA) is advantageous.
  • Certified Financial Manager (CFM) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) credentials are desirable.

Skills and Experience:

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in financial management, with at least 2 years in the hospitality industry, preferably in a luxury hotel setting.
  • Proficiency in financial software and systems specific to the hospitality industry, such as Opera Financial Management.
  • Strong understanding of financial regulations and compliance requirements in France.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting with accuracy.
  • Proven track record of improving financial processes and implementing cost-saving measures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with senior management, department heads, and external partners.
  • Leadership experience with the ability to mentor and develop finance department staff.
  • Fluent in French and English, both written and spoken, to effectively communicate in the hotel’s primary business and guest languages.

  • Standard work hours are from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday to Friday, with flexibility for remote work up to two days per week.
