Responsibilities
Responsibilities include developing and executing tailored workout programs, providing health and wellness advice, and fostering a supportive and motivational environment within the hotel's fitness center. The instructor will work closely with the hotel staff to ensure a seamless integration of fitness services into the overall guest experience.
- Conduct initial consultations with guests to assess fitness levels, understand personal goals, and develop customized workout plans.
- Lead private and small group fitness sessions, including yoga, Pilates, strength training, and cardiovascular exercises, adapted to the abilities and objectives of participants.
- Offer nutritional advice and basic wellness coaching to guests seeking to improve their health and lifestyle.
- Collaborate with the hotel's spa and wellness team to create comprehensive wellness packages for guests.
- Organize and execute monthly fitness challenges or health-related events to engage hotel guests and promote a healthy lifestyle.
- Maintain the fitness center's equipment and ensure all areas are clean, safe, and inviting for guests.
- Keep up-to-date records of guest progress and sessions to monitor effectiveness and adjust plans as necessary.
- Provide exceptional customer service, responding to guest inquiries and feedback with professionalism and hospitality.
- Work closely with the hotel's concierge and guest services teams to promote fitness offerings and integrate them into guest itineraries.
- Participate in regular training and professional development opportunities to stay abreast of the latest fitness trends and health guidelines.
Requirements
To qualify for the Part-time Fitness/Gym Instructor position at the luxury Parisian hotel, candidates must possess a strong educational background in fitness or related fields, hold current fitness certifications, and have relevant experience in a luxury or high-end fitness environment. A passion for health and wellness, along with the ability to deliver personalized, high-quality fitness training to hotel guests, is essential. Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to work flexibly are also required to meet the unique needs of a diverse clientele.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or a related field is preferred.
- Additional coursework or training in nutrition, physical therapy, or wellness coaching is a plus.
Certification:
- Current certification from a recognized fitness organization such as ACE (American Council on Exercise), NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine), or ACSM (American College of Sports Medicine).
- CPR/AED certification is required.
- Specialized certifications in yoga, Pilates, strength training, or other relevant fitness disciplines are highly desirable.
Skills and Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a fitness instructor or personal trainer, preferably in a luxury hotel or high-end fitness center.
- Proven ability to design and implement effective, personalized fitness programs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire clients of all fitness levels.
- Fluent in English; proficiency in French or other languages is a significant advantage.
- Demonstrated commitment to health and wellness, with the ability to provide advice on nutrition and lifestyle modifications.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage schedules and maintain records of client progress.
- Flexibility to work various hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends, to accommodate the needs of hotel guests.
