As the Food and Beverage Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all food and beverage operations within the hotel, ensuring the highest standards of service are met. Your tasks will include managing a diverse team of staff, curating menu offerings, and ensuring all guest experiences exceed expectations. Responsibilities

Food and Beverage Managers oversee the operations of food and beverage establishments. Responsibilities include managing staff, optimizing sales, ensuring quality service, overseeing inventory, and implementing health and safety standards. They may also be involved in menu planning, coordinating with chefs, and collaborating with other departments to create a positive dining experience for patrons.

s the Food and Beverage Manager at our client's luxurious hotel, your primary responsibilities will involve overseeing the entire food and beverage department to ensure exceptional service delivery, managing a diverse team to foster a culture of excellence and innovation, and collaborating closely with the kitchen and hospitality staff to curate and maintain high-quality menu offerings. Your role is pivotal in enhancing the dining experience and maintaining the hotel's reputation for culinary excellence.

 

  • Develop, implement, and continually review the food and beverage strategy to align with the hotel's objectives and customer expectations.
  • Lead and manage the food and beverage team, including recruitment, training, scheduling, and performance management to ensure high levels of engagement and performance.
  • Work closely with the Executive Chef to develop menus that meet quality standards and are aligned with current culinary trends and guest preferences.
  • Oversee the financial aspects of the food and beverage department, including budgeting, forecasting, and managing expenses to ensure profitability.
  • Conduct regular staff meetings to communicate goals, share updates, and address challenges, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
  • Liaise with the marketing department to promote the hotel's dining options through various channels and special events.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the food and beverage department.
  • Monitor customer feedback and implement improvements to dining experiences based on guest suggestions and industry best practices.
  • Coordinate with the events team to manage food and beverage logistics for hotel-hosted events and conferences.
  • Conduct monthly inventory checks and negotiate with suppliers to ensure the cost-effective procurement of high-quality ingredients and supplies.
  • Implement innovative technologies and processes to streamline operations and enhance the guest dining experience.
  • Provide exceptional leadership that inspires the team to deliver outstanding service and achieve operational excellence.

Requirements

Candidates must possess a blend of formal education, industry-specific certifications, and practical experience in the hospitality sector. A strong educational background in hospitality management, combined with relevant certifications and proven leadership in food and beverage operations, is essential. Additionally, skills in financial management, customer service, and team leadership are critical for success in this role.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Master’s degree in Hospitality or Business Administration (preferred, but not required).

Certification:

  • Certified Food and Beverage Executive (CFBE) by the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute.
  • ServSafe Food Safety Manager Certification by the National Restaurant Association.
  • Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) Level 2 Award in Wines (preferred for understanding beverage management).

Skills:

  • Proven experience of at least 5 years in a food and beverage management role within a luxury hotel or high-end restaurant setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team in a high-pressure environment.
  • Strong financial acumen, with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of working effectively with staff, guests, and external partners.
  • Proficiency in Point of Sale (POS) systems and restaurant management software.
  • In-depth knowledge of the latest trends in the food and beverage industry, including health and safety regulations.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by the hospitality industry.
  • A commitment to providing exceptional customer service and enhancing the dining experience for all guests.
  • Bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus, particularly in languages common among the hotel's clientele.
