Our client, a prestigious luxury hotel located in the heart of Paris near the Eiffel Tower area, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Front of House staff member to join their team. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for our guests, responsible for greeting them with warmth, managing reservations efficiently, and ensuring all front desk activities are coordinated smoothly. This role is crucial in maintaining the hotel's reputation for outstanding customer service and ensuring that each guest's stay is unforgettable. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in a similar role within the luxury hotel sector, excellent communication skills, and a passion for providing exceptional guest experiences.

Responsibilities

This position includes a wide range of responsibilities aimed at ensuring optimal guest satisfaction and smooth operation of the hotel's entrance and reception areas. The role involves direct interaction with guests, handling their inquiries and needs, and coordinating with various hotel departments to deliver exceptional service. Key responsibilities include:

  • Greeting guests warmly upon arrival, providing a personal welcome, and ensuring they are promptly attended to.
  • Managing and overseeing reservations, including room assignments, check-in/check-out processes, and special requests, ensuring all guest preferences are met with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Coordinating with the housekeeping and maintenance departments to ensure that guest rooms and common areas meet the hotel's high standards of cleanliness and comfort.
  • Handling guest inquiries and complaints with professionalism and courtesy, resolving issues efficiently to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Conducting daily briefings with the front desk team to review occupancy levels, guest arrivals/departures, and any special events or VIP guests.
  • Maintaining a comprehensive knowledge of the hotel's services and amenities to provide accurate information and recommendations to guests.
  • Collaborating with the concierge service to assist guests with external reservations, such as dining, entertainment, and transportation.
  • Overseeing the billing and payment process for guests, ensuring accuracy and addressing any discrepancies promptly.
  • Engaging in regular training sessions with front desk staff to continually improve service standards and guest experience.
  • Monitoring the lobby and entrance area for cleanliness and ensuring that any necessary adjustments are made to maintain an inviting atmosphere.
  • Liaising with security to ensure the safety and security of guests and hotel property.
  • Preparing monthly reports on guest feedback, front desk operations, and any areas for improvement to present to hotel management.

Requirements

The role demands a candidate with an educational background in hospitality or a related field, certifications that validate their expertise in customer service and hospitality management, and a range of skills from linguistic proficiency to exceptional interpersonal abilities.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Tourism, or a related field from a recognized institution.
  • High school diploma or equivalent, with coursework or training in customer service, communication, or hospitality.

Certification:

  • Certified Hotel Administrator (CHA) from the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute.
  • Certification in Customer Service Management, such as the Certified Customer Service Professional (CCSP) or the Professional Certificate in Customer Service (PCCS).

Skills:

  • Fluent in English and French; additional languages are a significant plus.
  • Proven experience in a luxury hotel environment, with at least 2 years in a front desk or customer service role.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging positively with guests of diverse backgrounds and needs.
  • Competency in using hotel management software and reservation systems.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to meet the demands of the hotel’s operation.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle stress and stay organized under pressure.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to address guest concerns and ensure a satisfactory resolution.
