Job description
A renowned fine dining establishment in New York's prestigious Upper East Side is seeking a part-time restaurant accountant/financial analyst to join their team. The position involves overseeing financial operations, conducting performance analysis, and implementing cost-control measures. Candidates should possess in-depth knowledge of financial principles relevant to the hospitality sector, proficiency in financial software, and the ability to work collaboratively with the management team to drive financial success.
Responsibilities
- Oversee financial operations and maintain accurate records for all restaurant transactions.
- Conduct comprehensive financial analysis to evaluate restaurant performance against budgetary goals.
- Implement cost-control measures and identify opportunities for financial optimization.
- Collaborate with the management team to develop financial strategies that align with the restaurant's objectives.
- Prepare monthly financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Monitor compliance with financial regulations and standards within the hospitality industry.
- Coordinate with external auditors for periodic financial audits.
- Manage payroll processing and ensure timely payment of invoices and expenses.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience in accounting or financial analysis, preferably within the hospitality or retail industry.
- Strong proficiency in financial software and MS Office, especially Excel.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Detail-oriented with an ability to work accurately under tight deadlines.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Knowledge of restaurant operations and the luxury market is a plus.
- Ability to work part-time hours, with flexibility for end-of-month reporting and analysis tasks.
