Job description
A renowned art gallery in New York's Chelsea district is looking for a part-time security specialist to protect their valuable pieces. This position requires the individual to oversee the security operations, manage access control, and respond to any security incidents with discretion and efficiency. Applicants should possess a strong background in security, with a preference for those who have experience in the protection of high-value items.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the security operations within the art gallery, ensuring the safety of valuable pieces and the premises.
- Manage access control to the gallery, verifying credentials and monitoring guest movements to prevent unauthorized access.
- Respond promptly and effectively to security incidents, maintaining composure and discretion in high-pressure situations.
- Conduct regular surveillance through CCTV systems and perform routine security checks throughout the gallery.
- Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency services as necessary to address and resolve security matters.
- Train and coordinate with other staff members on security protocols and emergency response procedures.
- Prepare and maintain detailed security reports, documenting any incidents and the measures taken to resolve them.
- Stay updated on the latest security technologies and practices relevant to the protection of high-value items.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a security role, preferably within high-value item protection such as art galleries, museums, or luxury retail.
- Strong knowledge of security systems and technology, including CCTV operations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to act swiftly and effectively in emergency situations.
- Good communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with staff, guests, and law enforcement agencies.
- A high school diploma is required; additional certification in security or law enforcement is preferred.
- Flexibility to work part-time hours, including weekends and evenings as required by the gallery's operating hours.
