Job description
Our client, a high-end restaurant located in Miami's culinary scene, is seeking a talented part-time sous chef to join their kitchen team. This role is ideal for an individual passionate about creating innovative dishes and working with premium ingredients. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to menu development, manage kitchen operations during service, and mentor junior staff, all while upholding the restaurant's reputation for luxury dining.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and innovation of new dishes and menus, ensuring they meet the restaurant's luxury standards.
- Manage kitchen operations during service times, coordinating with kitchen staff to ensure efficient and timely food preparation.
- Mentor and train junior kitchen staff, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Oversee inventory management, including ordering and stocking premium ingredients and supplies.
- Maintain the highest levels of food quality and presentation, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef on menu planning, cost control, and kitchen logistics.
- Handle any guest feedback related to food quality or presentation, working to resolve issues promptly.
- Conduct regular kitchen meetings to discuss service feedback, operational improvements, and team performance.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef in a fine dining or luxury restaurant setting.
- Culinary arts degree or equivalent professional certification.
- Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, food preparation, and presentation.
- Leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
- Creativity in menu development and passion for culinary excellence.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work part-time hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety in the kitchen.
