Job description
Our client, a high-end retail store in the Manhattan's luxury shopping district, is seeking an experienced audio-visual technician. The successful applicant will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and operating state-of-the-art AV equipment to enhance the shopping experience and support in-store events. This role demands technical proficiency, creative problem-solving, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service in a fast-paced luxury retail environment.
Responsibilities
- Installing, configuring, and maintaining AV equipment across the retail store, including sound systems, video displays, and interactive media stations.
- Collaborating closely with the marketing team to design and implement AV solutions for in-store promotions, product launches, and special events.
- Conducting regular checks and maintenance routines to ensure all AV equipment operates flawlessly and meets the store's high-quality standards.
- Providing technical support and troubleshooting for any AV-related issues during store hours.
- Training store staff on basic operation and troubleshooting of AV systems to ensure smooth day-to-day usage.
- Coordinating with external vendors for equipment upgrades, repairs, and new technology integrations.
- Managing inventory of AV equipment and supplies, including scheduling replacements and upgrades as necessary.
Requirements
- A degree or certification in audio-visual technology, electronics, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in an AV technician role, preferably in the luxury retail or hospitality industry.
- Proficiency in operating and maintaining a wide range of AV equipment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with teams across the store.
- Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays to support store events and promotions.
- Familiarity with current AV trends and technologies, with a willingness to continuously learn and adapt.
