Job description
Our client, a new bakery in Dubai, is looking for an experienced Pastry Chef who specializes in Oriental/Syrian pastries to handle the entire pastry operation.
As the sole chef, you will be responsible for the creation, preparation, and baking of a range of traditional and innovative Syrian-style pastries. This is a unique opportunity to take full ownership of the bakery's pastry offerings and help establish its reputation.
Responsibilities
- Create, prepare, and bake a variety of Oriental/Syrian pastries, including but not limited to Monaqashan.
- Handle the full pastry production process, including dough preparation, filling, baking, and finishing.
- Develop new recipes and ideas, while ensuring consistency and authenticity in traditional Syrian pastries.
- Maintain the highest quality control to ensure all pastries meet the bakery’s standards.
- Manage inventory for pastry ingredients, ensuring proper storage and tracking of supplies.
- Keep the pastry area clean and organized, adhering to all health and safety standards.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Pastry Chef, with a focus on Oriental/Syrian pastries.
- Proven ability to work independently and take full ownership of pastry operations.
- Creative and open-minded with a passion for creating both traditional and innovative pastries.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to maintain a professional working environment.
- Punctuality and reliable attendance are essential.
- Basic English proficiency is required; Arabic is a plus.
Work conditions
- Full-time position.
- 6 working days per week, 1 day off.
- Start date: Within 2 months (new business launch).
- Work timings will vary depending on the skills and strategy of the chef.
- Salary: Competitive, based on experience.
